Memory's Edge

Memory’s Edge is a tribute to my first trip to Europe. It was printed and bound in an edition of five at MICA during spring 2022. Found materials were used to create ten collaged plates, each representing a location I visited on my trip, which were printed onto Rives lightweight paper using a gel plate. The German text states the location depicted in each print, and was completed with letterpress. The covers were made from modeling pulp board and Ingres blue paper. Each book is bound with linen binding tape and olive wax thread.

FRUIT PUNCH

FRUIT PUNCH is a labor of dichotomies. Personal and professional. Reserved and messy. Responsibility and vulnerability. Obvious and hidden. Composed and repulsive. Masculine and feminine. Control and release. It is a fashion line under the design collective CHEEKEEBEE by Rebecca Loren. 100% driven by woman-identifying creatives and displayed on men, FRUIT PUNCH reverses gender roles within the fashion industry, having women direct men according to their own creative vision. FRUIT PUNCH uses collaboration as the cornerstone of this effort, producing multiple deliverables including fashion design, visual identity, photography, makeup design, animation, packaging design, exhibition design, and publication. Considering the fact that men have historically designed for women, through the processes of collaboration and conversations with women of various backgrounds, FRUIT PUNCH reverses the male gaze, serving men an empathic taste of their own toxicity.

FRUIT PUNCH was published on May 6th, 2022 by Ananya Mohan. Five editions were created as a deliverable of FRUIT PUNCH. The edition was arranged as follows; copies numbered 1-5 have been hand-bound in dos-à-dos style, with risograph prints created for the endpapers. One side represents the Collection and the other represents the Recipe (the written thesis essays). This is the official documentation publication of CHEEKEEBEE’s pilot collection, FRUIT PUNCH.

Two sections of the book were perfect bound and then assembled in dos-à-dos style. Risograph prints made from collages that were used for the endpapers of the books.
